Since 2014, the CDA and ADDEAR 01 have been supporting a group of farmers (Ain department ) in the introduction of old varieties. The Graines de l’Ain association, created in 2016 and with the GIEE label, brings together farmers, bakers and citizens of the region.

Objectives of the group “Graines de l’Ain” :

  • Knowing the agronomic, baking and taste characteristics through experimentation
  • Gaining autonomy through the reintroduction of old varieties of cereals and the creation of a local industry
Since 2014: 17 experimental farms
Since 2016: 10 farmers involved in the sector / 5 bakers / 1 network of citizen gardeners

Actions carried out by the CDA and partners:

  • Co-construction of an annual action plan
  • Organisation of training courses (sector, experimentation, collective tool)
  • Meeting of the actors of the territory
  • Case studies
  • Co-construction and monitoring of experiments on old wheat varieties
  • Organisation of bread-making tests
  • Organisation of tasting tests
